10 Players Spurs Should Consider Getting Rid Of

3. Andros Townsend

If, as rumoured, Spurs are in the market for another winger - such as Memphis Depay - and they end up signing one, Andros Townsend's days at White Hart Lane could be numbered. Townsend is 23 and, as much as people might think he's now a major player - particularly given his performances when called upon for England - he's actually still only made twelve league starts for Spurs. His development has been slow and he's been loaned out no less than nine times in the last five years and, frankly, he's not that great. He is superb at running at people but he doesn't offer much of an end product. He's scored once in the league for Spurs in his 31 appearances (he's come on as a sub 19 times) and he often flatters to deceive. He's one of those players who, like Danny Rose, is capable of standing out at a low-end Premier League club (as he did at Queens Park Rangers and as is epitomised by the fact he is being chased by Southampton), but he probably isn't ever going to be consistently good enough for a team with Champions League aspirations.
