10 Problems Only Spurs Fans Will Understand

6. "Mind The Gap"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fp_UJz7OTPI Spurs fans will find it hard to admit it, but the league table doesn't lie, and they haven't finished above their bitter North London rivals Arsenal in the Premier League since 1995 (Spurs finished seventh, Arsenal finished twelfth). Of course, what makes this fact even worse for Spurs fans is that they have come so close to ending this run on a number of occasions. Spurs have given up huge leads over Arsenal and allowed their most bitter rivals to overtake them - including on the final day of the 2005€“06 season, when a food poisoning epidemic led to an under-performing Spurs losing to West Ham, while Arsenal's victory against Wigan took them above the Lilywhites. North London superiority definitely currently lies with the Gunners and, as much as Spurs fans can point to the history books to list a number of things that Spurs still have over Arsenal, the team in red and white certainly have the edge at the moment (a fact made worse when Arsenal won the F.A. Cup last season, so Spurs fans can no longer even say that they were the last of the two sides to win a trophy).
