''Im going to play until my body says I cant do it anymore or the club doesnt want me. - Brad Friedel, June 2013.
During the summer, Brad Friedel put pen to paper on a new one-year contract at Spurs that could quite possibly make him the oldest player to ever appear in the Premier League. Its testament to his ability and professionalism that he has managed to keep himself at a top Premier League club, even as a third-choice, at the age of 43. Having made his first-team debut for US side USSF 20 years ago, the American goalkeeper has enjoyed a long and distinguished career, taking in spells at Galatasaray, Liverpool, Blackburn and Aston Villa amongst others. However, how much longer can he possibly go on for? His contract will expire next summer, and can anyone really see Spurs offering another to a man who will be 44 years old? Surely he realises that this is his last season in football, especially considering he hasnt even made the bench for the White Hart Lane side since August.
''We just have to wait and see. At my age, its more of a month to month thing instead of year to year. - Brad Friedel, January 2014.
