9. Ralph Milne
Neal Simpson/EMPICS SportRaph Milne's Manchester United career can be looked upon as being the second coming of George Best - though unfortunately the only similarities are the pair's off-field battles with the bottle. Milne was plucked from then-third division side Bristol City two years after Alex Ferguson - long before the knighthood - took over and he looked every inch a third division player. The winger had three seasons at Old Trafford and it never worked out, managing just three goals in 30 appearances. Instead, Milne was more known for his off-the-field woes, later admitting
that he was an alcoholic who squandered his wages on alcohol, women and gambling. Manchester United would be the last English club the Scot would play for, and he ended up in China playing for Sing Tao Sports Club.
