Carlton Cole was one of West Ham's current longest serving players when he was released by the club in 2013, after joining in 2006. Despite rarely showing his true potential he was a fan favourite, taking a 50% pay cut two years earlier so that he could stay at the club. When Cole failed in finding a new club and West Ham failed in finding a new striker to replace him, we signed him again just months later.
