James Collins joined West Ham in a deal that included his defensive partner Danny Gabbidon in 2005. Following an injury that kept him out of almost the entirety of the 2008 season, he was sold on to Aston Villa where he enjoyed great periods of first team action. He fell out of favour at Villa after he was fined two weeks' wages for a drunken outburst, and was subsequently signed once again by West Ham to attempt to fix our defensive woes.
