11 Spurs Signings Who Were Absolute Bargains

5. Aaron Lennon

Aaron Lennon is undoubtedly past his best and he didn't reach the dizzy heights that his potential suggested he might reach when he was younger. That said, given that he cost Spurs a mere £1 million from Leeds United in 2005 and is still with the club now, you have to say that he has more than provided his money's worth with the club. Lennon has played 258 Premier League games for Spurs - 218 of which were from the start - and he has scored 26 league goals. He was also part of the team that beat Chelsea 2-1 in the 2008 League Cup final and the team that famously qualified for, and performed so admirably in, the Champions League. His speed and his willingness to run at defenders has always provided Spurs with a different option and, even though he hasn't really developed other aspects of his game, Spurs could sell him now and still make a very good profit on him.
