Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen signed for Spurs for £11.5 million from Ajax last summer and he was the only new recruit who truly finished last season looking like he was worth the money.

Eriksen showed that he can create goals, score goals and take fantastic set-pieces and, in today's market - particularly at the top level - that makes his transfer fee an absolute steal.

His vision, flair and creativity look to be a class above the average Premier League and his ten goals in the last campaign - seven of which came in the league - were, of course, a massive bonus.

He has started this season on fire in a Spurs team who look like they could do some serious damage in the Premier League under Mauricio Pochettino and he looks like he legitimately has the tools to become one of the best players in the world. If he was to ever leave the club - perish the thought - the fee Spurs paid for him would be highlighted even further as being a bargain, as he would fetch a very, very hefty sum now.
