5. Chelsea: Away 1994-96

This grey monstrosity inexplicably remained for two years, undoubtedly the most unpopular of that era, and marked a downward spiral for UK based kit manufacturer Umbro. Although responsible for several shirts in this list, and noted for their flamboyant designs, the manufacturer was a success story of British design, producing clothing for the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and the England national team. However as quality went down and prices went up, the new millennium proved to be difficult for UK brand and soon all top teams had signed contracts with foreign kit makers. Umbro€™s eye-popping glory days are well behind it. Today its only contract in England is Conference North side Stockport County. The most high profile international team it caters for is the Republic of Ireland.
