15 Worst Ever English Football Kits

12. Stoke City: Away 1996-97

Stoke City have always arguably had an inferiority complex: one of the more well known chants produced by their fans is entitled €œWe are Stoke!€ a repetitive song with only three words sung to supposedly remind opposition exactly who they are playing against. This may explain the need for Asics to brandish the club€™s name across the front of the 1997-98 away kit, which combined with the colours and general design to look particularly amateurish and laughable. Stoke have come a long way since they days of this shirt, both on the pitch and in the wardrobe, but equally ex-Premier League teams that once had great style, such as Leeds United or Nottingham Forest, are now struggling to put together a decent looking kit.
