15 Worst Ever English Football Kits

8. Newcastle United: Away 2009-10

Maybe not one of the worst of all time, but the most notable in recent years. This Adidas strip is still fresh in the memory of football fans, and fresh was certainly one of the words used to describe the style, if only one of the more polite ones. It was essentially a yellow and cream version of the home kit and was worn during Newcastle€™s stint in the Championship after getting relegated the season before. As well as its shocking clash of colours, it became infamous for being a shameless example of commercialism by the club€™s owners. In the Championship that season, only three out of twenty-three opposition clubs had clashing kits to the black-and white of the Toon. Yet Newcastle paraded this shirt in every single away match, as well as some home pre-season friendlies, in an attempt to promote the kit and boost sales. It appeared more times than the home shirt when most agreed it should have been hidden away, only worn for the most confusing of clashing kit emergencies.
