4. Clint Dempsey To The MLS
Sure, hes 30-years-old and hes from the United States; however, this is a very important year for both Dempsey and the US national team. You would think that Dempsey, as well as his coach at international level, Jurgan Klinsmann, would want him to be playing against the best possible opponents. It seems obvious that his opponents in the EPL would be much better preparation for the World Cup in Brazil next summer than playing in the MLS. If the rumors about his salary are true (
$8 million per year for 4 years), then nobody can blame Dempsey for making the move to the MLS. But, if Bale is indeed on his way out of Spurs, it seems that Dempsey could have helped out this year. Also, he could have helped another EPL team, or made a move to a team like Celtic in Scotland to play in the Champions League. But, hes in the MLS now. I hope it works out for both parties, because Id love the US to perform well at the World Cup.
