5 Reasons Why Chelsea Won't Win The Premier League

3. No Constant Striker

Undoubtedly one of the biggest problems with not having a settled first team is not having a favourite striker to call upon, particularly when the team only plays with one attacker. The burden of this important role in the squad is at the moment shared between Fernando Torres and Eto'o, who as the result of injuries and lack of form, have failed to make the spot in the team their own. Torres returned to the slot on Saturday in the victory over Southampton after spending the past month on the injury table, allowing Eto'o to score three goals in five games in all competitions. Despite this Torres went straight back into the first team after his Cameroonian tammate missed the game against the Saints through injury. Whilst not their fault, the injuries certainly don't help, and when they haven't been injured, their form has been erratic at best. Although it is true this is the best Torres has looked for a long time, but it still isn't quite what it could be, and that may come in time, but it may come too late for this season. Eto'o has two goals this season in the league so far and to put that into perspective, that's less than half as many as Oscar and the same amount as centre back John Terry. Torres fares even worse than that with one goal in the league, and unless these two strikers can find their goalscoring form soon, it is hard to see the Blues clinching the title.
