3. Inexperience

Another problem for Liverpool is in their squad as the players they have no experience in the current situation they find themselves in, which makes it really difficult for the club to finish on top. The experienced players, like Steven Gerrard, have never won the league title and have minimal experience in a title battle while the younger players have nothing to look back on and don't have players with English league titles to look up to and get support from. This presents a huge problem when you compare Liverpool's team to the squads of their title rivals where the teams are full of players who have won the English title before, except Arsenal. Chelsea have the likes of Frank Lampard and John Terry, while Manchester City have Vincent Kompany and Sergio Aguero, amongst others. This season has been a transitional time for the Liverpool squad and has given them experience in battling higher up the league but like Brendan Rogers, it is a step too far at the current time. Liverpool can compete fully with their squad in the future but this season is not that time.
