5 Reasons Liverpool Won't Win The League (And 1 Why They Might)

4. Brendan Rodgers

Liverpool's manager is a terrific boss and the perfect fit for the club but he doesn't have the requirements to steer a club to the Premier League title just yet. It's not an insult as he has come a long way since his days at Swansea City and has drastically improved the fortunes of Liverpool but the challenge of a league title battle has come just too soon, though he will be capable in the future. Comparing Rodgers with the other managers in the title race demonstrates the issue. Mourinho is one of the best managers in the world, Wenger has plenty of experience in a title race and finishing on top while Pellegrini, though new to the league, has plenty of plaudits. Rodgers' aim for the beginning of the season was to put Liverpool back into the Champions League, where they belong to be. They're on course to match their objective and to even be considered as in the title race by some is a brilliant demonstration of the progress the club has made. However, the league title is a step too far for Rodgers at the current time. In the future he'll definitely be able to achieve this goal but now is not that time. Next season, however, is a different story.
