6 More Films Michael Owen Should Probably Watch

Maybe the problem was he just couldn't relate?

Of all the ridiculous things that Michael Owen has said in his career - both during and after his playing days - his confession on Twitter that he has only seen eight films in his whole life, and all were forced upon him, was one of the most difficult to take. What sort of joyless miserablist denounced an entire industry, and one of the most important mediums in cultural history in one grumpy swipe? How can anyone claim to hate something as broad and as rewarding as movies? It€™s like when someone provocatively says they will never watch Game Of Thrones because it€™s rubbish without ever seeing it, or some hipster turns their nose at something ridiculously important as water, or oxygen. Since Owen has clearly given up on the chance to enrich his life with films because he didn€™t enjoy any he was shown, perhaps he should have been watching something that resonated more with his own life and career. So, to help him discover a real love of cinema, we€™ve come up with 6 films that the former Newcastle striker might feel more at home with.
