6 Questions Mike Ashley Must Answer About Alan Pardew

1. Would A Replacement Be Forced To Suffer The Sins Of Pardew?

One concern a lot of Newcastle fans have currently concern what happens after Pardew gets sacked: some remain committed to Pardew solely on the basis that whoever replaces him might be worse (i.e. Joe Kinnear) or that nobody will want the job based on Mike Ashley's control of the club. So the question here is really how Ashley will deal with that - if he is indeed sorting out the short-term future of his management team - and specifically what sort of encouragements the next candidate will enjoy. More than anything, the new candidate and indeed the fans will want to know that Pardew's failures won't be used to paper over more engrained issues, like the lack of an experienced striker, or the need for a centre-half. It would seem foolish to suggest that the problems of this regime would be punished in the next, but it can and does happen, and Ashley needs to continue addressing the problems with his club, and not just the problem of Pardew.
