Dann only signed for Palace in January, making him a strange addition to the list. However, perhaps no one player has epitimised the style of play his manager wishes to portray and has been so influential in obtaining results. (Maybe Suarez would disagree!) Scott Dann is arguably one of the best Penalty Box Centre Backs in the English Game. He has limitations. He is not quick, not great on the ball and technical par for a central defender. But when asked to defend on a deep defensive line, he is brave, composed, controlled and confident. he is willing to put his head into dangerous areas, throw himself in front of shots and dictate a line to his team mates. His Trojan like performances for Birmingham City a couple of years ago earned him a reputation for this, but this season he has cemented it. 6 wins from 11 starts with since signing for Palace is an exceptional achievement (they were all but relegated in October) and whilst Tony Pullis has worked wonders with the whole Palace quad to make them both organised and competitive, it has been Dann (and his CB partner Delaney) that should be heavily praised.
