8 Frank Lampard Goals Chelsea Fans Will Never Forget
8. Hull City 0 Chelsea 3, KC Stadium: Oct 29th, 2008
In the modern game of football, we are used to seeing all types of skills, flips and tricks in an attempt to put off defenders and goalkeeper during a match: the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar have become recognised for their ability to manipulate the ball to just about anything they want it to do. It may come as a surprise then, that Frank Lampard produced one of the best-chipped goals seen in the past decade of competition. On a cold and miserable Wednesday night in October, the former West Ham man brilliantly and very much intentionally lobbed a helpless Boaz Myhill from outside the penalty area with his supposed weaker foot. It was a goal not often seen from the hard working, dogged and reliable Lampard, but his goal proved that he was more than just a work horse. The quick-thinking and skill he showed to lob the keeper illustrated another side to his game that had not previously been seen, justifying his position as one of the best midfielders in the world and leading Sir Alex Ferguson to label him as an "exceptional player." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8kgf70DSs1I
