9. Jorge And Eduardo Robledo
Until a couple of years ago, the Chilean brothers held the record for the only brothers to play on the same pitch for Newcastle, and though that record was subsequently equalled when the two most successful Ameobi brothers took to the field together, the Robledos were far more successful at United. In winning the FA Cup together in 1952, the Robledos also became the first pair of foreign players to appear together in a cup final starting eleven, which is an even greater accolade considering the fact that Newcastle had no intention of buying Ted from Barnsley in 1949. The Magpies has initially only been interested in signing George, but when he refused to sign without his brother the fee of £26,500 was negotiated to include Ted. George would become the more famous of the brothers, forming a strong partnership with Jackie Milburn and scoring 82 goals (including becoming the first foreign First Division top scorer with 33 goals in 1951-52) before joining Ted, a left-back at Colo-Colo for £25,000 in 1953. The pair flourished in Chile, but Ted died young in mysterious circumstances at the age of just 42, falling from an oil tanker off Dubai.
