9 Terrible Swansea City Signings That Utterly Failed

7. David N'Gog

British football fans will instantly recognise David N'Gog as the striker that came to Liverpool with a promising future but failed to deliver. A string of unimpressive performances led to the Frenchman being sold to Bolton Wanderers for £4m in 2011 but it was the same old story. Relegation to the Championship saw the French U21 star face up against shoddier defences, surely here he'll find his feet and show Liverpool what they were missing! Not the case: eeven goals in almost fifty appearances in England's second tier somehow saw N'Gog get his second chance at the top flight under the Captain Laudrup's Shaky Swansea Ship (patent pending). N'Gog joined the Swans for an undisclosed fee and made just three appearances: not one goal scored, not one chance mustered, just a panic signing which feels to this day like Michael Laudrup's practical joke on Huw Jenkins and the board.
