Arsenal: 6 Results That Proved Wenger's Gooners Can Still Cut It

2. AC Milan 0-2 Arsenal (04.03.2008)

This was another huge European night for Arsene Wenger€™s side and once again it occurred in the last 16 stage of the Champions League. With the first leg finishing goalless (pictured above), it seemed as though the Gunners had an impossible task at hand. Milan were the holders and, prior to Arsenal€™s victory, no English side had beaten them at the San Siro. As expected the game was an exceedingly nervy affair, with both sides aware that just one goal could secure a spot in the next round. It was Arsenal though who kept their cool and defeated Ancelotti€™s side. Cesc Fabregas, who produced a man of the match display, scored a brilliant 30 yard strike to give Arsenal the lead in the 84th minute. Emmanuel Adebayor then secured the win with a goal in the dying minutes to wrap up a highly impressive performance.
