Arsenal Transfers: 10 Greatest Ever Foreign Imports

9. Emmanuel Adebayor

Although it is fair to say that Emmanuel Adebayor isn't remembered quite as fondly by the Arsenal faithful as Fàbregas, he still had quite an impact at the club. He was signed in 2006 for a paltry £3 million from Wenger's old side Monaco and went on to score 46 goals in 104 league appearances for Arsenal. His flick up and volley against Spurs won the Match of the Day Goal of the Season award for 2007/8, one of 30 goals in that season. In 2009 Adebayor signed for nouveau riche Manchester City for £25 million, meaning a huge £22 million pound profit had been made on the player. He would come back to haunt Arsene Wenger several times.
