10. Cesc Fàbregas
After being signed for nothing from Barcleona's famous La Masia academy, Cesc Fàbregas soon made his mark at Arsenal, becoming their youngest ever first team player at the age of 16 years and 177 days. He broke into the first team in the 2005-6 season, replacing the departed Patrick Viera in Arsenal's midfield and wowing fans with his playmaking ability and eye for goal. By 2008 he was club captain and undoubtedly Arsenal's best player. Fàbregas had many special moments at Arsenal, including a a 25 yarder in the North London Derby, a breathtaking solo goal in the same fixture a year later and a longshot at the San Siro to eliminate reigning European Champions A.C. Milan. Unfortunately for Arsenal they couldn't hold on to their talismanic captain and Fàbregas returned to his home town club for a fee of around 30 million, not a bad return for Mr Wenger!
