3. Alexandre Pato
Arsenal had an 8 million (£6.61 million) bid for Alexandre Pato rejected this month,
according to ESPN, but
remain interested in signing the Brazilian. Pato only moved back to his native homeland earlier this year when he joined Corinthians, but his stay there has been an unpopular one, with the former AC Milan man evoking the wrath of his own supporters with a number of unimpressive performances. A dire penalty in a shootout against Gremio, a miss which saw his side knocked out of the Copa do Brazil in October, further alienated him from Corinthians fans recently. Arsene Wenger believes he can revive the player's career ahead of the 2014 World Cup, though the Frenchman will likely have to bid far more than the £6.1 million put on the table earlier this month if he is serious about acquiring the services of the 24-year-old attacker.
