3. Radamel Falcao
Another striking option that has since had new life breathed into it is Radamel Falcao. Falcao only signed for newly-promoted Ligue 1 club Monaco in May this year in a huge £51 million deal that was viewed at the time as a statement of intent from the ambitious French club. Chelsea were linked with the Colombian goal-machine shortly before he joined Monaco, and could be back in the hunt now that the French club
may have to sell, just three months after plucking him from Atletico Madrid. Monaco are currently embroiled in a bitter dispute with French footballing authorities over a tax issue relating to Falcao, whom they may now have to offload or face being hammered by a £75 million fine. And that could be the perfect opportunity for Chelsea to make a sensational new swoop for their one-time target after it looked as though they had missed out for good. Falcao netted 28 times in 33 La Liga appearances for Atletico Madrid last season and has also been on the radar of both Manchester City and United in the past.
