Chelsea Transfers: 5 Deadline Day Deals That COULD Happen

3. Demba Ba To Join Newcastle On Loan

Demba Ba only moved to Chelsea one year ago this month but his stay at Stamford Bridge has not been a successful one and may come to a close before the end of the night. The Senegal striker has found life difficult in west London and has had to settle with being a bit-part player under Jose Mourinho, used mostly as a substitute. Ba has only played 11 minutes of Premier League football this year and it has been recently reported that Newcastle are lining up a move to re-sign the forward. The Magpies sold Ba to Chelsea last year but it has been suggested the Blues would be prepared to loan the forward back €“ for £3 million. Chelsea are pursuing Diego Costa as Mourinho looks to bolster his forward line this month and that would push Ba further still down the pecking order. If the Blues decide Ba is deemed surplus to requirements, and Newcastle€™s interest is strong, a last-ditch bid could yet be made before the end of play.
