3. Andros Townsed Was A Revelation
Spurs are reportedly looking to sign at least two attacking midfielders during this transfer window, with Willian and Erik Lamela the two most strongly linked, but on this evidence they already have a top quality first team player in that position in Andros Townsend. The Willian deal is apparently in doubt thanks to a late intervention from Jose Mourinho's Chelsea and, while the Brazilian would be more than welcome at White Hart Lane, if the Blues were to gazump Spurs to his signature it could turn out to be a blessing in disguise. Why spend £30m on a position that could already be filled by a product of your own youth system? Townsend, the former Queens Park Rangers loanee, was outstanding in Georgia. He was skilful, creative and topped his performance off with his early goal from outside the box - after having ran 50 yards. Gareth who?
