2. Frank Lampard
I do not want to merely list the central figures of the "Golden Generation", but the game against Brazil proved that some still have a significant role to play. Lampard will most likely not play every minute or even every game, but if he is to make the England squad in the future he is good enough to help England reach success. The goal he scored against Brazil completely undermines what Neymar said about match winners. Outside of Rooney there is not another truly prolific forward to score goals, but Lampard as a midfielder can fill that void. If England are to do anything they will need a man who can help chip in with goals at vital times, whether that is from the bench or not, does not matter. Lampard still has plenty to offer even if that means coming off the bench to score. He may not be at his best, but he is certainly good enough to help England push for a trophy.
