3. Wayne Rooney
Many England fans are still waiting for Wayne Rooney to recapture his Euro 2004 magic, and with a decent all-round display like that, might just mean that international form is just around the corner. Rooney led the England line and linked well with the midfield to provide an attacking threat, both in possession and on the counter. His finish for his goal was as cool as one can be, and in fact made a challenging shot look like a tap in. Goals were not the only thing Wayne Rooney was good for. He hustled all over the field for the entirety of the game, and it was this hustle that led him to provide the assist for Frank Lampard's goal. It has often been said that Wayne Rooney was England's only true World Class player, and after that performance you can see why he's been given that label. Nothing outrageous, but just an excellent all-round performance. Neymar's claims that he's England's only match winner, might be up for debate, but there is no debate that Rooney is a real match winner. If England are to reach any sort of heights they will need a forward that can be relied on, and based off this match, Rooney can be that man.
