5. Strength Of Midfield
Rodgers plan of action that constitutes possession domination and creativity relies on a strong midfield, but apart from players such as Steven Gerrard and Lucas, Liverpool dont particularly have one. With the addition of former Borussia Dortmund star Nuri Sahin, it looked as if Liverpool might have the makings of a strong midfield, but after his departure the team are back to square one. Of course, as Ive previously mentioned, it will take time for players such as Allen to fit in properly. But this weakness has been apparent this season, with Gerrard prone to go missing too often. Until Liverpool have a solid midfield, it doesnt look likely that there will be silverware any time soon.
