Liverpool's 10 Greatest Premier League Victories

2. Liverpool 5-1 Arsenal - 2013/14

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOfj9SaUIEw When Liverpool hosted Arsenal in February last season, Arsene Wenger's side were eight points clear of the Reds and second in the table. The performance that Rodgers' side produced, however, was one of the greatest Anfield displays in history. The level of football was astounding at times. Many felt Arsenal would win the game, but within a minute Skrtel had powered Liverpool into the lead, sending Anfield bezerk. Nine minutes later the Slovakian centre-back headed home Gerrard's corner, and the Gunners simply did not know what had hit them. Worse was still to come for them. A wonderful counter-attack involving Henderson and Suarez led to Sterling stroking the ball home from close-range, and Sturridge made it 4-0 in clinical fashion. Incredibly, there were just 20 minutes on the clock. Suarez, Sturridge, Sterling and Coutinho were unplayable, and it is genuinely no exaggeration to say it could easily have been 7-0 at half-time. After the break Liverpool played within themselves, but Sterling got his second of the afternoon at the second attempt. Mikel Arteta's penalty proved to be one of the least important goals in Arsenal's history, and the game petered out in the end. It had been a mesmerising first-half performance though, and the victory acted as a springboard for Liverpool mounting an amazing title charge. They fell just short in the end.
