The rise and fall of Ashley Young over the past couple of years has almost been painful to watch. In 2009 he was the hottest English player in the league with Aston Villa flying high challenging and no one was playing better than Young who was scoring goals and setting up chances. Young was considered a real top prospect for both his club side and the national team. Signing for Utd for over 18 million pounds seemed like the perfect move as Young could only improve playing at Old Trafford. Except Young seemed to leave his best form in a claret and blue shirt because in the red of Manchester United Ashley Young hasnt looked the same player. Utd fans would agree Young has been a very disappointing signing. His goals have almost dried up He has struggled with rotation and maybe the pressure of playing at the very top level. Young has also been struggling with his new unwanted reputation of being a diver. Last season Young hurled himself to ground to win cheap penalties and of course these acts of unsporting behaviour were picked up on. This has made Young a villain in the press and when he started diving this season Moyes had to come out and say he would speak to Ashley about his conduct. Ashley Young needs to find the form he showed early on in his career and he has to perform soon not just for his Man Utd career but for his almost dead England career too.
Ian Newby is a average nerd living in the north of England, if given the chance he would spend all his life sat watching every single football match he possibly could before catching up on nerd happy TV shows then playing videos games all night, thankfully he doesn’t do that.
