Though many think of Vidic as a fantastic Captain, it's easy to forget he only actually got Captaincy of the Red Devil's at the beginning of the 2010-2011 season, taking over from an injury ridden Rio Ferdinand. Nemanja Vidic is a born leader and even before becoming Captain, always was a natural controller of the game on the field. He would bark orders from the back like the best general gives orders to his troops. His Captaincy was characterised by tight defensive showings and in keeping with the Manchester United mantra that it's not over until the final whistle. Vidic was always a fan favourite so to see him become Captain was a natural progression for the legions of Manchester United fans. Those calling for him to step down as Captain now that he has entered the final months of his career would do well to remember not only his contributions to the team over the year, but to also remember how much of a leader he still is on the pitch in a time when United look increasingly vulnerable.
