3. Cesc Fabregas
Now that United have missed out on
Bayern Munich-bound Thiago Alcantara, they are set to rekindle their interests in Barcelona's Cesc Fabregas. The Spanish international was linked with a move to Old Trafford earlier this summer but United switched their attentions instead to Thiago. However, now that the youngster is unavailable, the champion's interest in the former Arsenal captain is set for a renewal. United are in the market for a creative midfielder. Paul Scholes has retired while Ryan Giggs, in spite of his apparently-evergreen qualities, cannot be expected to go on for much longer. Fabregas would be the ideal acquisition in those regards considering he is known as a goal-scoring playmaker and set-piece specialist. He would likely cost £34 million but then, Moyes doesn't have a restricted budget.
