Man Utd Transfers: 5 Reasons Why Red's Should Get Rid Of Wayne Rooney

2. There Are Better Options Out There

There was once a time when Rooney's departure from the club would have been disastrous. Claims from rival fans who suggested United were a "one man team" weren't all that wide of the mark, especially last season when Robin van Persie wore the red of Arsenal and called the Emirates Stadium "home". If United have been a one man team this season, it is because of the exploits of the aforementioned Dutchman rather than the heroics of Rooney. The England international is no longer indispensable to Manchester United, and there certainly are players who can come in, take his place and do just as good a job, if not better, than Rooney has been doing this season. Players like goal-machine Radamel Falcao (above), or Borussia Dortmund's prolific Robert Lewandowski have both been linked with United in the past and if you asked United fans who they'd rather have out of that trio of players in their team, the majority would no longer answer "Rooney" as they once might have done so automatically.
