Manchester United 2 - 1 Liverpool (11 February 2012, Old Trafford, Premier League)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vr4fBGSILOk Controversy. That is the only way to really describe this game. Sadly, rather than the football, most of the talk surrounding the game was over the Luis Suarez and Patrice Evra affair. Would they shake hands? The answer? No. This resulted in Evra losing his temper and trying to grab Suarez's forearm, not a great sight to see before a big game of football. After a goal-less first half there was a bit of a rumble in the tunnel, unsurprisingly Evra and Suarez were at the heart of it. However at the start of the second half two goals by United in quick succession soon directed everyone's attention back to the football. The first goal was a 6-yard blast from Rooney and the other was the Englishman yet again, he calmly slipped the ball into the net after a pass from Valencia. The game was always beyond Liverpool by this point as United continued to play well, Even an 80th minute goal from Gerrard could not motivate the team to go on and get something from the game. Unfortunately, the game ended in yet more controversy as Evra chose to celebrate and leap around in front of Suarez, the referee made sure it did not turn into anything more ugly however.
