The recently dismissed Southampton boss at first glance may not seem like a contender to stand up to these other managerial heavyweights, but it would be wrong to overlook his talents. Now, Nigel Adkins may not draw in the big names of Europe for a closer look, but he will get a lot of looks from British clubs. A fan favorite down at Southampton Adkins was sacked much to many of the fans dismay shortly after pushing the Saints out of the relegation zone. The reason for all the dismay comes from the fact that Adkins managed to lead Southampton to back-to-back promotions. Adkins took a League One Southampton all the way to the bright lights of the Premiership, and although given a decent amount of money to spend in the summer he still had Southampton in a good place to stay up. Even with the money spent it is hard to ask for much more from a recently promoted side. His replacement, Mauricio Pochettino, will have a hard time in winning over the players and fans who Adkins was appreciated by. Granted it is very unlikely that Adkins will be picked by a top Premier League side, it is likely that a "lower" Premiership team will want him. Failing that, Adkins will be a hot commodity for a lower league side pushing for a promotion in which Adkins has achieved before! It certainly will not be long before we see the Englishman back in a job.
