1. Diego Simeone
After achieving success as a player, former Argentina midfielder, Diego Simeone, is currently plying his trade in Spain as manager of Atlético Madrid. As a manager Simeone started to make his name in Argentina after winning a couple of league titles, but came back to prominence in Europe in early 2012 when he took over at the Estadio Vicente Calderón. Simeone has been able to bring some order and stability to a club that is notorious for the opposite. Despite all the politics and distractions surrounding the club Simeone managed Atlético to Europa League glory in May of 2012. Simeone has been able to continue that kind of form in the 2012-2013 season as Atlético sit second in La Liga ahead of arch rivals Real Madrid. Although not as experienced, in particularly at big clubs, as others on this list, Simeone has still been able to attract some admirers. This does not mean he cannot handle big name players though, as Radamel Falcao has flourished with Simeone in charge. With Chelsea missing out on Pep Guardiola they may have a think about this young Argentine manager. However, Simeone's style of football may not be to the liking of notoriously hard to please owner Roman Abramovich, who still seeks a Barcelona-esque type of play. Whether Diego Simeone returns to Atlético for his second full season is a question that will have to be answered at the end of his current campaign, but if he continues on his current trajectory he will not be around for long.
