Newcastle Transfers: 10 Big Deals Linked For January Already

6. Tyrone Mings

Linked By: The Mirror Considering the concerns with having too many foreign players, and Newcastle's agenda to sign players whose value will increase, it's not at all surprising that there seems to have a shift to look at British talent in the Championship. The rather unfortunately named Mings has set the league alight from left-back for Ipswich, and has been scouted by Arsenal, Everton, Sunderland and Newcastle already. He's a great emerging talent from a club we know all about, but he'd probably cost more than the £3m that Palace bid for him last January. Chances? Do we really need another left-back? Santon is mysteriously injured of course, and Paul Dummett isn't up to scratch (no matter what Pardew says), but it seems unlikely a fourth in the position would be sought this winter. Perhaps one for the longer term?
