Let's be honest here, it was always going to be Liverpool who expressed an interest in Aarons first (though Man City have been scouting him for longer thanks to a baffling "scouts welcome" policy on closed door friendlies), because they have a delightful habit of nicking all of Newcastle's best players. But Liverpool probably isn't the best place for the winger - or at least not yet. Some will say that Aarons will be the next Raheem Sterling - premature for now, but by no means impossible - but Sterling's acquisition from QPR was a lot different to what any deal for Aarons would be. He cost £3.5m - a lot for an unknown teenager - and he wasn't immediately ready for the first team, whereas Aarons has already played and scored in the Premier League. Aarons' situation is more akin to Andy Carroll's - albeit without the protective luxury of a five year newly-signed deal - and even with less than 18 months on his current contract he would cost Liverpool a pretty penny. He would likely be similarly over-hyped, and without the protection of his friends and the familiar close attention of the back-room staff (remember his celebration with the physic?), even a grounded, religious lad like him could start to believe the hype. And that would be premature, just as Andy Carroll's move to Liverpool was. He could end up seeing his bubble burst as spectacularly as the long-haired striker, and taking his time to move onwards and upwards is the best move right now. What do you think?
