Premier League's 11 Biggest Crybabies

4. Fernando Torres

Fernando Torres is a hate-figure in certain sections of Liverpool following his £50 million move to Chelsea back in 2011 and had a dig at his former side shortly after completing the transfer, blaming them for making him an outcast on Merseyside. He once whinged: €œThe Liverpool fans don€™t know the truth about why I signed for Chelsea. The fans don€™t even know half of what happened. They don€™t know what the people in charge at Liverpool are like €“ they have a completely different perception of what they are like.

€œThey made promises that they didn€™t keep and I left because I realised I didn€™t have time to be part of a project that would take years. I have nothing against the Liverpool fans. I didn€™t want to leave Liverpool the way I did but the club lied. I was let down and I don€™t understand why the fans hate me.€

It's difficult to conjure up much sympathy for Torres on this particular matter considering he left a club where he was worshiped to join one of their fierce rivals. Torres has gone on to complain further during his time at Stamford Bridge, and spoke out over his dissatisfaction at being snubbed from the 2012 Champions League final squad, blubbing: "I'm not happy.

"Before the game I felt it was going to be one of my best moments and I came with great desire and ambition. But then I had to start on the bench. I felt huge disappointment when I saw the starting line up, maybe the biggest disappointment of my life."

Maybe if Torres spent more time improving on his abysmal goal-scoring record and less time complaining, he wouldn't be in the mess he finds himself in. More recently, the Spaniard looks like bursting into tears the longer his goal-drought goes on, and a part of you feels like giving him a cuddle.
