Ranking All NUFC Premier League Goalkeepers - Worst To Best

4. Pavel Srnicek - 99 Appearances - 1991 - 1998, 2006-07

No discussion about Newcastle's goalkeeping ranks is complete without mentioning one of our most universally popular shot-stoppers. Srnieck was a relative unknown when he pitched up on loan from Banik Ostrava in December 1990 during the days of Jim Smith. A permanent deal soon followed and had firmly established himself as our number one two years later after Keegan's took over as manager. During his seven years at St James' he helped us gain promotion to the Premier League and came within a whisker of winning a league title medal during the 1995/96 campaign. Although we best remember him for sporting a selection of garish goalkeeping ensembles and his stereotypical Eastern European mullet, Wor Pav was one of the few foreign imports at the time that forged a strong and long-lasting bond with his adoring public. He even returned to bail us out of a goalkeeping crisis in December 2006 at the ripe old age of 37.
