Rating Everton's 5 New Summer Signings

3. Romelu Lukaku

The Belgian had a highly successful loan spell at Everton last season scoring 15 goals and now joins Goodison Park on a permanent basis for £28M, smashing Everton's previous transfer record. Lukaku is without a shadow of a doubt, one of Europe's elite youngsters: by the age of 21, the Belgian surpassed the record of most league goals scored, going ahead of Sergio Aguero, Neymar, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. With that evidence, Chelsea could very much regret selling the striker, but their loss is very much Everton's gain. The forward has attracted comparisons on Didier Drogba since he's strong, powerful, quick and an excellent aerial threat, and he will fill an important hole. Everton have lacked a top class goalscorer for years and they finally have one who can lead them to further glory. Lukaku is very much settled at Goodison and had a superb understanding with Mirallas, Leighton Baines and Seamus Coleman last campaign, something he will be hoping to continue. £28M however is a big fee for someone so young and there have been cases in football when youngsters stop progressing. That is the only reason Lukaku is no getting the top grade. Rating: B+
