Rating Everton's 5 New Summer Signings

2. Samuel Eto'o

A Champions League, La Liga and Serie A winner - all on a free transfer. Eto'o arrives on Merseyside with bags of experience - something that will help Lukaku up top as he will teach him the tricks of the trade. At 33, he is in his twilight years of his career, however there is very much some sunlight left. His killer instinct in front of goal still remains as shown in his debut against Chelsea when finishing a neat header. Further, Eto'o's rich European experience will come in handy now that Everton are back competing in the Europea League. People don't give Cameroon's record goalscorer the credit he deserves either when it comes to his work-rate - he chases down defenders constantly and gets back when the defence need a helping hand. Add this to his versatility - Eto'o is capable to play up top, just behind the strikers or out on the wing - a role he took when winning the Champions League with Inter Milan. The striker also has something on his mind that a lot of players don't - revenge. Last season, he was unfairly labelled too old to play for Chelsea by his then-manager Jose Mourinho, which angered the former Barcelona man, and Eto'o will be keen to continue proving he still has the ability at the top level, as he proved by scoring against Chelsea in his first game for Everton. Despite Eto'o maybe losing a yard of pace, he makes up for it in experience and for diddly squat, it is an excellent signing who will help Lukaku and score his fair share. Rating: B+
