Davy Klaassen is something of an anomaly on this list, as he has had no prior links with Spurs whatsoever but, in the case of Louis van Gaal taking over at the club, Klaassen would surely be a potential target in the event of Christian Eriksen leaving the club. An Ajax player at present, Klaassen's pedigree is identical to Eriksen's - who Spurs signed from Ajax - as he is an attacking midfielder with plenty of goals in him and would be exactly the age Eriksen was when he signed for Spurs (21), should he sign this summer. Louis van Gaal actually gave Klaassen his first Dutch cap this year and it remains his only one to date, but there are surely plenty more where that came from and if van Gaal wants to nurture young Dutch talent at Spurs then Klaassen could be an ideal signing for that reason - and the aforementioned reason that he is very much in Eriksen's mould.
