1. Romelu Lukaku
Yves Logghe/AP/Press Association ImagesThe most important thing that a team needs for them to get into the top four is a striker who scores goals, which is precisely what Spurs didnt have last season. Emmanuel Adebayor was their top scorer with ten league goals - though granted he only played from Christmas onwards - and he simply is not the right man to lead the line in coming years. Lukaku is currently a Chelsea player although he has spent the last two seasons away from Stamford Bridge with season long loans at West Bromwich Albion and Everton - both successfully, scoring 17 goals at West Brom and 15 at Everton. It is easy to forget that the Belgian forward still has his best years in front of him at 21 so it just might be worth breaking the bank for him and reaping the rewards as he gets better. With the signing of Diego Costa for Chelsea, Lukakus time at Chelsea has been thrown into further doubt with the forward saying
he is going to consider his future. If he decides to move on, there will doubtless be huge competition for his signature, with Atletico Madrid apparently interested, but Tottenham should do all they can to sign the big Belgian as he could prove the difference between a return to the Champions League or another season with the dreaded Europa League. Who do you think that Tottenham should sign this summer? Let us know in the comments below.
