10 Greatest Ship Entrances In Star Trek

3. The Titan-A - Disengage

Star Trek Picard Titan A

Star Trek: Picard's third season is going to become one of the most talked-about seasons of Trek for years to come, and moments like this are a clear example as to why. There are simply so many magical moments in those ten episodes, that picking the best among them is a true challenge - even for this writer.

However, this one is a hell of a contender. The SS Elios XII is caught in a tractor beam by the Shrike, with Riker, Picard, and Jack trying desperately to outmaneuver the larger ship. Things are looking fairly grim, and Beverly Crusher's life support is failing. The three men are on the verge of surrendering to the shrike when, out of nowhere, the tractor beam is shattered.

The Titan-A warps in, on the command of Captain Shaw, directly between the two ships, breaking the Shrike's hold on the smaller vessel. It's a properly surprising, cool moment to see, as the saucer section of the Neo-Constitution class ship slices through the Shrike's hold.

This is one of many outstanding visual moments in the season, and as it arrived so early on, it was a taste of what was to come.
