10 Greatest Ship Entrances In Star Trek

2. Enterprise-E - First Contact

Star Trek First Contact Enterprise And Defiant

Star Trek: First Contact leads with much of its action up front, not least of which is the fleet battling the Borg Cube over Earth. The USS Defiant, commanded by Worf, is on its last legs by the time we catch up to them, though is still fighting. Ships all around are exploding, and it looks as though the Borg are gaining the upper hand.

The Defiant's helmsman, played by a beardless Adam Scott, tells Worf that phasers and torpedoes are gone - infuriating the Klingon. With no options left, Worf orders the ship to go to ramming speed, directly into the Cube - until Scott detects another starship entering the fray:

It's the Enterprise!

The brand new Sovereign-class Enterprise-E then fills the screen, dwarfing the Defiant, taking the pressure from the smaller ship. In fact, the battle is over mere moments after the ship arrives, as Picard's knowledge of the Borg saves the day.

There are few moments in Star Trek that stand out as brightly and clearly as that entrance by the flagship. It was enormous. It was sleek. It was absolutely beautiful. Sorry, Enterprise-D who?
