10 Huge Revelations You Missed From Star Trek: Prodigy

9. Much More Character

Even after just 20 episodes, the crew of the Protostar has received an immense amount of character progression.

Take Jankom Pog for instance. Fans might have missed that he's a pre-Federation Tellerite who, in Preludes, reveals he was aboard a sleeper ship and is responsible for saving 29 other lives.

The same goes for Rok-Tahk. Starstruck explains that the Brikar has only ever eaten nutra-goop which again comes up in the already mentioned Preludes. Rok's trial by temporality in Time Amok elevated her abilities from defacto security officer up to extremely educated science officer with episodes seeing her dip into different fields to help solve various situations.

Zero, the Medusan has a background embedded firmly in TOS and its third season Is There In Truth No Beauty? Their connection to a hive mind has already come into play with the Borg. There's been a constant reminder of the dangers of their natural form and that's already borne out against the Diviner in A Moral Star.

Gwyn also changes immensely over the season from a supplicant daughter to Federation protector and the writing makes the progression a natural evolution.

A Star Trek fan from birth, I love to dive into every aspect of the franchise in front and behind the screen. There's something here that's kept me interested for the best part of four decades! Now I'm getting back into writing and using Star Trek as my first line of literary attack. If I'm not here on WhatCulture then you're more than welcome to come and take a look at my blog, Some Kind of Star Trek at http://SKoST.co.uk or maybe follow me on Twitter as @TheWarpCore. Sometimes I force myself not to talk about Star Trek.
